Cakewalk Christmas Specials

I'm planning to buy Sonar 4 Producer. I've been waiting to see what CW does in the way of Christmas specials. Right now they're offering free shipping until 12/27. But I was wondering if they'll offer something more substantial.

Has CW offered Christmas specials in the past (I mean more than free shipping)? We're getting close to the middle of December, so I'm starting to think the answer is, "No." But I thought I'd ask.

Hey those sound like great deals. I wasn't quite expecting anything like that. But I was sort of hoping there'd be something like "for existing Cakewalk customers and extra 20% off thru the holidays.." A guy can hope huh? :)
 
Yeah, 10-20% would be nice. I haven't seen anything yet. Keep checking though.
 
Usually Cakewalks "deals" are the everyday going price on stuff.
Their last giveaway was a compilation of freebies from the net.

I like Cakewalks product,I'm not crazy about ther marketing.(successful as it may be :rolleyes: )

They just ended a repeat of their successful upgrade to SONAR 4 and get Project 5 for $99.00 offer. They also offered Project 5 and Kinetic for $149.00.

Currently, for upgrader's they are offering the Cakewalk Professional Pack $349.00 for users of SONAR 3.

I'll admit that their specials often aren't all that special, but they already offer a solid program for a reasonable price and their upgrade policies are among the best.

I think their approach is quite intelligent- Offer a good product, price it fairly, don't burden it with arcane copy protection that doesn't work and penalizes the end user, give good support, continue to improve and upgrade the software and offer an upgrade path that doesn't bankrupt their users.

Although I did'nt upgrade to 4.
I've begun to regard Cakewalk as more of a subscription than upgrade though. :rolleyes:
 
Sonar 4

Damn! I just saw the price of Sonar 4. $599 is the lowest I've seen. Producer Edition that is. Is there anywhere to find a lower cost? Maybe some reduced costs in early January?

Also, this may have been discussed already, but what about just getting the Studio version and using free plug-in effects? The Studio edition doesn't seem to come with the Sonitus Fx plugins. Are they worth it?
