I want to know what imputs to get on the cables, the end connecter, male, female, etc... and how many I should get.

I want to connect my mixer to mics and amps to record stuff, and for live sets. and my mixer to my computer.

you got my blanket reply to a question that is impossible to answer without more information.

It's like asking, "I have this stuff...what do I do with it?"
We have no clue what you're talking about.

What equipment do you have in particular? What connectors are already on the equipment? What are you trying to connect to each thing? Come on man, a little more detail.

Matt - I have to tell you, you're heading for trouble on every level in your current approach to this whole recording thing. You have to be more engaged than this, or you'll never understand any of this. You've twice now asked an un-answerable question, and demonstrated that you don't care to figure anything out, you just want the answer, never mind that you can't formulate the question. I urge you to either take an interest in what you're trying to do, or just pay a recording studio to record you, and let them worry about how equipment is connected, let alone used.
If you want to get engaged, start by reading the manuals for your equipment. While your at it, read this for a primer on connector types.... http://support.radioshack.com/support_tutorials/audio_video/audfaq-2C.htm

You need to know what you're connecting to what, from a block diagram perspective, and then at the individual equipment level what connector types you need your cabling to interface to.
