What do you guys (& girls) think about cables?
What kind of cables do you use?
Any prefs when it comes to brands, etc...
tell me! :)

Do some searches for this topic - I recall a recent question covering this.

Again, Planet Waves works for me (to contradict the search suggestion :D )

Hate 'em. I'm in favor of the wireless studio.

What kind of cables do you use?
None. I'm all air, baby.

Any prefs when it comes to brands, etc...
None of them compare to air. No faulty connections. No Hi-Frequency buildup. No burn-in time. No tripping. Get yours today!

Don't listen to scrubs, you don't want to record on a wireless (although it depends where you live) unless you want to pick-up the local radio station on your recording or the guy next door talking on his home wireless phone.

I think scrubs is referring to an old funny thread https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=141210&highlight=cables
which was a spoof.

Now if it's live then I'm not sure cable/wireless makes that big of a difference.

However, as far as cables go Mogami & Canare are the best. I wasn't sure they would make that big of a difference but I can hear a small difference between the Mogami and a regular HOSA patch cable. Most people would tell you not to buy Monster Cables, and I would agree in saying that they are very costly. If you are starting out just get some Livewires and look at making your own (if you are going to be serious about recording) in the future which will give you the best quality for the lowest cost.

You should go to the Microphone Forum and do a search on Cables.
