should i use that huge black windscreen on the C1 when i'm doing vocals? i plan on using my pantyhose pop filter...so how does that big black thing affect the sound?
using the pantyhose pop filter and the foam cover would be redundant. The foam covers are mostly usefull when you need pop reduction from several directions or when you might have air movement noise.
Yea the Big Black Monster, I like that name, Anyway it is used for Recording out side to help reduce the wind hitting the Capsul, Sand, or other objects that churns up when you are outside.
I used mine because I thought I was supposed to. D'oh. Got a nylon pop filter, works fine. The black monster IS for outside and if you use it, you might as well be using another mic, it changes the sound so much.
Well, the "Big Black Monster" does change to the sound... but, that might not be a bad thing for something. So what's the story about using LDC mic's outdoors in the wind... besides a nightmare?
