so i officially hate mixing this song now. it's been a pain in the ass. the vocals are really dynamic and the snare is really dynamic. i tried compressing the hell out of the snare to get it as constant as i could, and these are the results. i think there maybe clipping at about 1:15 or so thanks to the stupid snare. i'll just lower the stereo level of the whole thing. or maybe it's my ears... i've heard this song way too many times. anyway any help would be appreciated. thanks

Cool tune, sounds very much like a band I know.

Vocals are very low in volume, need to come out, maybe some eq`in would help.

also you might wanna use some (more) verb on the guitars.
The rest of the mix is nicely leveled to my ears.
Perhaps some more meat to the kick would suit this style:confused:

thanks for sharing:)

The vocals seem to be the biggest thing sticking out at me that could use some attention. I think for the most part everything else works with this style of music. I would agree the bass drum could use some lifting in the mix. The guitar riff at the end seems to be panned a little too strongly.

It also seems like some levels are dropping randomly at different areas?

I enjoyed it though.

the guitars are panned the same throughout the entire song. so maybe it was just that you noticed how far they were panned towards the end? as far as the vocals go this has been my biggest challenge. i guess i'll try to bring them up slightly in level . i'll remix and post it as soon as i can. and i'll try bringing up the kick and adding some verb to the guitars too. See how that sounds

Nice song. It sounds like all guitars to me. Drums, bass and vocals are buried. Try mixing with all guitars pulled all the way down, find a good mix with Bass, Drums and Vox then slowly bring in the guitars.

cool.

so applied chili's method o' mixing and mixed the bass and drums alone then added vocals then gently put in the guitars. i cut out alot of the lower frequencies in the clean guitar and now it sounds a bit lo fi but i think the vocals fit better because of it. i also boosted the low frequencies in the kick. let me know if i'm getting warmer or straying further away. Thanks.

I really liked the sound of this - especially the softer harmonised vocals at the start. Not such a fan of the shouty part or the deep voice in the background in some parts - sounds a bit ugly...but overall this is a kicking little indie tune  with a very cool sounding ending rumble...
