UPDATE!

Alright well i ended up not getting the Mackie Onyx 800R but i think im getting the 400F instead. I have learned a lot about mics in the last week but never the less i still have not decided. I actually have an SM58 now which should be a nice mic to just have as a backup or for general purposes. Ive decided to not buy a specific mic just for my bass cab which i think is one of the better suggestions you guys have had for me but i want one of the other mics i buy to be able to mic a bass cab pretty well. I want at least one other mic that i can pretty much mic everything with (acoustic guitar, vocals, and bass). What do you guys think about me getting a ADK Hamburg MK8 mic? From what ive read it records vocals great as well as acoustic guitar and its low end should do a great job with my bass cabinet. Are there any major drawbacks to using this as a general purpose mic? Is there a better mic for all 3 of these applications? I will probably buy this mic new but if i manage to get a good deal on a used one and have another budget for a mic what would you guys recommend for a third mic?

That's a tough one, because the needs of mic'ing acoustic guitar, vocals, and bass are rather different. My best compromise is AKG C2000B (not C3000B, and not the Perception series). But generally, bass requires a dedicated low frequency mic. I like AKG D112. Vocals generally want a large diaphragm condenser or dynamic, say Rode NTK or Shure SM7b. Acoustic guitar wants a single large diaphragm condenser or a pair of small diaphragm condensers.- Shure KSM32 or a pair of Studio Projects C-4's. As I said, I think the C2000B is the best compromise on the market. It has been used successfully for vocals, acoustic, and bass.-Richie
