did anyone listen to the VBR version or just the 128? just curious..

I always listen to the VBR's you post. The highs sound so much better!

Please continue!:D

Sam, I'm not sure if its on my end or what but I can't get into Nowhere. Anybody else having a problem?

I can't get there either.:(

The main interface server, co-located in edmonton, appears to have gone down, as well as the main media server (coincidence? I don't know, could be an attack) which is here and I am working on. I can't reach their tech support dept. (no surprise since they sold the company to idiots) right now, but I can only hope they are working on it as well.

I have a contingency plan, and almost (about $350 short) enough cash for the new servers and new co-location host. Worst case, things will be down for a couple weeks.

All I can say is that I got the media server running way before they got the main server running, lol, but anyways, all is fine for now. Or so I hope.

I got in and gave it a listen. Sam, you have the most distinctive style of anyone I think I've ever heard. I'm glad to hear more harmonies coming from you. I don't want to just gush over it but that's all I can do. Killer.:D

The vocals are a little buried....Keep them that way! Adds to the dreaminess, or maybe nightmarishness. In fact, kind of reminds me of a Motorhead tune "Nightmare Dreamtime" in parts.
Pretty cool blend of sounds. Sometimes it's hard to tell where the guitar stops and the synth ends (in a good way). Nice lead playing.

A little more drums presence would make it rock harder, but it rocks pretty damn hard already.

I'm listening to this first thing in the morning. It's gonna be a surreal day.

Good stuff! I listened to VBR.

Vocals loud enough, but not too loud. Just right. I don't hear any problems. The mix improved and I didn't notice anything crappy in return (did you mean to cut the song suddenly?)

Impressive stuff!

Not my taste, personally - but well played, well recorded, well mixed by the sound of it!

Trip -I think that click your referring to is the guitar noise before the solo starts.. either that, or the severe cotton mouth I had was picked up loudly by the mic.. :) either way, you have a good ear.. thanks for coming back for the critical.. it keeps me awake..

M.Brane - cool.. I'll continue to put up a VBR if I think a song is halfway worthy.. the last one wasn't, but it may have made a difference on this one.. I'm really trying to see if I can get a 128 to sound good enough for most casual computer listening cases.. thanks!

fprod south - I have 'nightmare the dreamtime' playing right now.. I had to slap it on because it's been awhile.. It doesn't really remind me of it, but it is a great song! I've been into Motorhead for years.. :) thanks for checking it out man.. the VBR too nonetheless!! :D I agree totally about the drums..

Track Rat - I'm puffin' on some serious kind bud and typing this response.. thanks man!!!!! :D

TheRealWaldo - is there a fake Waldo?!! :D

Cranky One - sorry dude.. I should have mentioned your name when I started this thread because you were another MAIN REASON why I put so many more hours into it.. As far as the ending cutting off, I guess I've been doing that a lot lately.. I don't know why.. If this song went on longer, I would have faded it out, but I needed the ending at full volume to get the full effect for myself.. It's like you space out and then it ends abruptly snapping you back into reality! :D Maybe I just have been smoking too much lately.. Thanks brother!

moley - thanks for enduring it! :)

JR#97 - thanks JR!!!!

appreciate the ears everyone.. I'm glad I didn't leave it how it was, even though it's still screwed up sounding to me..

the guitars sound HUGE!!!! I must say this is one of the better ones I have heard from you, musically and recording wise, too.

Good job

"SAVE MY LIFE I'M GOIN' DOWN FOR THE LAST TIME

I have no idea who does that song, but there's a synth part in it that is incredibly cool...kinda' reminds me of that really fast stuff you were doing on the right at the beginning.

VBR'd it, and besides an obvious lack of autotune, I thought it was great. I mean, you don't NEED the autotune for any pitch stuff, it's just the coolest effect, lol.

Nice one,
Chris

Chris, that's Head East. A good mid west band.:D

Dammit, I knew that...LOL. Well, I mean...I've actually HEARD the name before. :D :D

You know the synth part I'm talking about too, don't you...lol. It REALLY fits (like a Reggae band at a KKK ralley, lol).

still cool, though.

holy shite this sounds like dream theater meets alice in chains meets steve vai meets ozzy, or i could say it just sounds like sam lol. man this one realy kicks booty man i like it alot. the guitar playing is awesome to(as it always is). and the synth part is killer man. great vox great vox great vox. did i mention great vox. man realy i am glad you shrared this man this is killer and tottaly original. god bless tim pate.

Oh yeah. That's a Moog I believe. I still think that was one of the best recorded albums, "Flap As A Pancake", (for the time period that it came out of) I've ever heard. The drums especially sound great.

Here it goes:
"or"-
I can't really complain about this mixing or recording. It's perfect ... your vocal in this song is too much 'deftones' for my taste ... but it's well done ...
n.v.e.m.-
the guitar in this one is killer ... I like the effects ... very modern ... sounds like a modern and psychodelic ''corrosion of conformity" version ... well produced ...
