Building a Hip Hop Vocal Studio

I was at a local home studio. You can see it at http://www.smashtbenz.com . Now I did record there but I didn't really check out everything. But he runs Cubasis on his computer. He has a AKG mic. A mackie 1202 VLZ pro mixer. I have all that too. I have a Sound Blaster Plat 5.1. Not sure about his sound card. He has a effects box (don't think I need that). I think he has a compressor/limiter (not sure). Well anyways I was happy with the results. Since I have a lot of the equip. I am thinking of making something similar. I'm interested in how you connect all that stuff though.... Help me out.

well what I mean is what equip would I need to produce similar results. Damn it. I can't explain it through text... Ahh I wish I could show you. Lol. Ahhh.... I guess no one can help.

Im wondering the same thing you want to know fabudd..i kno this dood smashbentz also works with a guy from deeper era productions. If anybody could tell the setup for hip-hop..it would be appreciated!
 
I know Smashtbenz personally which I'll ask for help but he's busy. I also have been in contact with Duane "Presto" from Deeper Era. I think lots of peeps would want to know. But I know the group and Presto. All from Edmonton Alberta.
