I've just received my tascam fw-1804 :D and connected it all up. I had a little play around with buffer settings, and now everything but cubase is playing at a much higher pitch, haha. Could someone explain what's happening and how to sort it?
Thanks

Could it be a sample rate conversion is happening somewhere?
Check settings for Tascam unit & Cubase prefs.
(I don't use either of these, so I'm just having a couple of stabs in the dark as to what the problem could be)

Hope it gets sorted!

It sorted itself. I exported a track from cubase and played it in wmp and it sorted it, lol. Don't know what was wrong with it, but it's fine now so I'm not gonna fiddle with it.

Your sample rate got changed in the hardware settings. Nothing to do with buffer settings. :D

Playing the song in WMP changed the sample rate back to what it's supposed to be.

Also, a lot of recording interfaces have a "Lock sample rate" option that you can use to keep that from happening. Not sure if yours does.

Cool! I think d.g. might have hit the nail on the head as to what the underlying problem might have been, but.............

Wiser words have never been spoken :D LOL!!

Enjoy!

Thanks, I'll look into that.
