hi everyone

i just saw the pop filter Les W DIY'ed (very nice work by the way) and i was thinking about making a kind of universal shockmount for my mics...

i found this and id like to make something like this

i took a hook and some elastic bands from my sister and made a not-decent shockmount just to check if the elastic band thing would really work...it actually did

now im planning to do a better design using pvc and adding a second "ring" (like the one in the link above) to make a little more stable (i dont want my mics to fall!!!)

does anyone has any other suggestion?? im planning on buying the pvc and som eyelets the day this friday and "build" it and test it during the weekend

im posting a pic of how it looks the "trial version" of my shockmount (please dont laugh lol...i did it quick just to check if it would work)

Cool! There are a lot of ways to make shocks--use imagination
Post a pic of your fancy one.

BTW, I payed attention in the Sound-Room link there is a Behringer ECM2000 Is it a miss-print, or something I don't know of?

That looks pretty good! I think you've already exceeded the quality of the Oktava shockmounts.

How are you going to attach it to a mic stand?

if you see the last step it says
"to the side I attached a piece of dowel, so it would fit into a regular mic clip as if it were a mic"

i would like to do that...i just need to get one that fits a mic clip

i WILL post some pics...when i have it done
anyhow, im still nervous about getting my mics on the floor ...but ill think of something to prevent that

any other ideas???
