Good job on this Nak. I like the arrangement - the way the flute plays melody, backup and goes out for solo. Good playing on all the instruments (nice solo on acoustic) and the recording is nice too.....More of this anytime....

:) :D :) :D

Thanks pal, I had some good fun.
I`m experimenting with Miking techniques, so its nice to hear that it sounds good.
The playing could have been better with proffesionals, But I find it as great practice to record stuff I dont know how to play.

its more fun than rehearsal :)

thanks man.

I listened to some of your stuff at soundclick, and I was thrilled.
Great stuff man. Vintage stuff

Ok here it goes.

the guitar is a dreadnaught.
My room is partially treated with bass traps and panels, I`m still putting up some more.
For this tune I found opening one of my doors and letting some reverbrance from an untreated room, was kinda cool.
I also added just a tad verb (for some extra sparkle).

I used a mxl 603 wich i place a bit high on the mic stand and pointed it downwards 1-2 feet away from the 12 fret.

I also used some decent amount of compression.

eqed ; low cut at 80 and boosted a bit around 200, then cut at 7k and added at 10k.

I have to say Its one of the better sounding accoustic guitar tracks I`ve done :)

thanks again mate hope some of what I wrote makes sense

Yeah it does. Have you found that treating your room has been a good thing for your sound? My room is very bare with no treatment, but I haven't started to record anything in here yet. I live in a unit, which isn't ideal for music making.

Thanks for visiting my soundclick, awesome!

Wow!...You know I love this kinda jam!Flute kinda reminds me of Tull's "Living In The Past" at times....Wish I could crank this up a bit but I'm sneaking a listen at work.Cool jam Nak!!!!

Hey Naka's,

Very sweet! It's great to hear a variety of instruments being played and recorded. I also enjoyed the acoustic guitar.

What are you like at playing the skin flute?...

Cheers Naka's.

Gorty :)

Nice combination of flute lines. :) Ha, the opening has a bit of a "Mission Impossible" style! The percussive rhythm guitar sounds very good drives the arrangement with an excited feel. Right at 1:01 to 1:03... it sounds like someone's saying "uhg, uhg, uhg". I like it - it's almost rap-like for a moment. :D I think the solo guitar lines would sound good on electric.

Cool Naka.

Fun little jam. Keep playing that flute, man. I like the percussive flute part--sounds just right. Acoustic sounds really good.

I'm not much help, but you know I love this shit!!!!

And True-eurt -- I didn't know you spoke Naka-nese!!

Thought I caught a little vocalization behind the flute playing - cool stuff, man.

I've got a little recorder I fuck around with, but a flute is too much instrument for me. Good job.

Yeah it really helps.
I felt my monitors became much better and tighter in the low end especially.

As well for vocals and instrumets recording, it helps quite a bit.

Thanks Tim, there is a lot of nonsense going on, especially around the ugh ugh part. :D I used ping pong delay on the flute there.
