I just bought a BRAND NEW Beheringer Eurorack MX802A mixer.
I plug, from the 2 L/R main outs, then i got some adaptors on the end to make it into 1 1/8" stereo, and put that into "LINE OUT" (in my soundcard).

No matter what i try or do, the soundcard only reads the LEFT side. I've switched chords in every way possible, and still its always the left. I'm pretty sure its not the soundcard too - becasue it works if i use my old 4-track as a mixer.....

So i had to mix everything to mono before recording a band that came over today... so i guess it's the mixer, right? maybe the R "main out" is just broken..malfunction?

if anyone has any ideas, maybe i'm doing something wrong (i dont thikn so...) then PLEASE let me know.

Also, even with NOTHING plugged into the soundcard...it looks like this:
(see the attatched pic)

shackrock you should get an RCA to 1/8 plug cord

plug this out of the tape out into the line of the soundcard

hope that helps

Look on your adapter plug, the one that goes converts to 1/8" plug, are you sure it has a stereo tip? Be very sure its not mono.

I agree with Tukkis on using the tape outs instead of main outs.

About the attached pic, thats your noise floor. Does your soundcard have a Line In jack? Maybe you should try that also.

Cant believe you bought a Behringer board without looking and searching about the love for them on this board 1st! Lesson learned :) They are the most bashed single product I have ever seen in my entire life, bar none.

He says he plugged the mixer into the LINE OUT on his soundcard.

You will have better results using the LINE IN on your soundcard.

good eye...but that was actually my typing error...lol I meant i bring the L/R line out (from the mixer) into the 1 1/8" plug (LINE IN) into the soundcard.

I'm gonna go ahead and try to use the "tape out" for now though...if that works...then i guess my mixer isn't broke after all.

lol

i'll let you guys know, thanks a million

YES!

Tukkis thanks TONS that line out in the tape out thing works perfect. thank god...ha
i'm glad it wasn't the mixer.

alright so can anyone suggest a level or 2 up from my OLD OLD OLD SB AWE32 sound card? All i need is a line out/speaker out and a nice line in. 50 -100 bucks would be best. And compatible with an old P2 266mhz, 196 ram, win98........and with any newer computer i would get as well.

ok...do you know what my SB AWE32 card gets? i mean, i'm sure it's less then that right? lol.

i guess i dont know what it is your talking about...haha

is that good or bad? lol sorry, and thanks

Chris -

Is it just me, or does this board has no analog line input?

It's just a matter of time b-4 that piece of crap breaks down!
Just a matter of time............

well isn't it better that i bought a berhinger - rather then the "phonic" version of the same board?

Shack- If you want a cheap upgrade for your card get a new SoundBlaster Audigy. If you want better digital quality then get one of the Midiman cards.

I've had my Eurodesk 2442 for 2,5 years under EXTREME conditions (45°C heat, Sandstorms) and it has never failed me.
I don't regret my purchase.

I think the Audigy Value card would be your best bet if you're going to get a soundblaster. For the price of the Platinum card you could get an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 or another "semipro"card.
