If you want your drums in stereo, plug the r & l output from your machine to the r & l inputs on the BR-8. The BR-8 'senses' an input signal and this will automatically activate the 'effect' option, you usually don't want any effects on the drum, since some drum machine add reverb and eq. To turn off the effect, press the Effects button, use the cursor and select Bypass and rotate the TIME/VALUE dial to turn the effect off. Please pg 31 in the BR-8 manual.
