i hate to keep asking stupid questions but how do you bounce

tracks on the 788?any help would be appreciated very much.

and/or...if that doesn't do it for you, desribe specifically what you're trying to bounce and I'll walk you through it.

i have a drum machine but i am putting each drum on a seperate track.i wanted to bounce them down to two tracks.any suggestions?

I don't know how simplified an explanation you need, so I'll start from the very basic approach. I assume you've got tracks 1 through 6 with drums on them and you want to bounce them down to 7/8.

Directly under the trim knob for input D you see the STEREO button, press this down and SIMULTANEOUSLY press the SELECT button under it, for track 7/8. Then arm 7/8 by pressing the REC READY button for 7/8.

Make sure tracks1 through 6 are assigned to "TRACK." If you press the TRACK button (to the left of the STEREO button), the SELECT lights for tracks 1 through 6 should flash.

Now, go to the upper right face of the 788 and press the SELECT button there until no lights are on (STEREO/EFF SEND/AXU OUT/SUB MIX), and make sure the CUE light just below that IS LIT UP.

Make sure that the only REC READY light flashing is for 7/8.

Get your mix right.

Go to the beginning, hit play and record. If you screw up the bounce, just repeat until you're happy.

When you're done, assign 7/8 to TRACK. Press the SELECT light in the upper right corner of the 788 until STEREO is lit up, turn all the faders down execpt 7/8. That sould be your bounce.

Now go through and label tracks one through six. You do that by pressing SELECT and then press TRACK. In the upper left of the screen it should say V TRACK. If you press select for STRIP 1, the check mark will be next to TRACK001. Press SHIFT+MENU and label the tracks using the jog/data wheel and the arrow cursors. DO this for each track (1 through 6).

Now press QUICK SET UP, scroll down to SCENE LIB., press YES, press the RIGHT cursor at the bottom right of the 788, "SAVE" should be highlighted, as well as "scene01". Press SHIFT + MENU and label that scene ("Drum Bounce 1" is probably a good title). Then press "YES" again and it's saved.

Now you assign new virtual tracks to STRIPS 1 through 6. Keep the drum on 7/8. If you decide later than you want to bounce the drums again, you just go back to QUICK SETUP and recall the "drum bounce 1" scene and all the original drums tracks will magically reappear on the strips and you can re-bounce, rinse, and repeat, in necessary.

If this explanation doesn't work. Tell me speciafically at which step it didn't work. I'll go from there.
