Boss RC-300

I've had the RC-300 for about 9 months now. The output has recently started to sound distorted and the volume levels are extremely low.
I've tried resetting to factory defaults, swapping out the AC adapter, swapping out cables. I'm thinking its user error, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.
Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

What is the entire signal chain? Is your guitar or whatever plugged into the RC-300 directly? Are the RC-300's outs going to something like computer software? Did you buy the RC-300 new?

Thanks for the reply, @TimOD . It ended up being the dang battery on my acoustic guitar. I'm all good now.
