Recently started using a HM2 and yes it is not a versatile pedal but anyway, it has some nice flavours...............however I find that the distortion control does not do much, turn it on a little and it works, turn it on full and it does not seem to make much of a change in the colour of the sound. The bass and treble controls are very active, and have a lot of impact on the sound.

Does anyone of you here have similar results with his/her dist. control, or is my pedal lacking somthing here?

Mine sounded about the same. I got a Metal Zone instead. I find distortion pedals all kind of work that way, giving distortion rather than a good variable overdriven crunch, which I prefer for most things. Nice to have that chug-chug when you want it, though.

Got a Boss OD-20. It models stomp boxes, is very versatile and has 4 memory presets. You can go from tube screamer to total screaming meltdown with one push of the toe !

Thank you chaps for your comments, so the Boss OD 20 is a wonderful thing? Can probably emulate all the exhisting Boss dist. plus a whole lot more.

Having played [and tweaked] a litte more with the HM2 I have to come back on what I said before, the distr. control does react in relation the the bass or treble control. Can acctually get more sounds out of it than one thinks. However, most folks will just go for that one dist. sound which is kind of early 80s metal-like.

If your are interested in reading more about Boss dist. pedals check out my review which I will compose right now.

See ya

Eddie
