Anyone ever use this Boss compression pedal? Is it worth buying...I play mainly rock, I guess compression really isn't needed there right? How about a noise elimination pedal? When recording, that buzzing noise when I got the overdrive channels on is really audible and annoying.

I use this pedal with bass and sometimes guitar. It does get noisy when you crank the "sustain" knob, but this is a compressor, right? It should be ok if used subtly. I say if you get it used for about $40-50, you won't regret it, those Boss pedals never break. It doesn't replace rack compressors but is handy as a pedal. I see it as a live tool, but for those like me with a home "studio" and no real gear it can work for recording as well. Anything's possible.

It comes with a manual which has sample settings for rhythm guitars, solos, etc. Also Boss has a free booklet explaining all their pedals and sample settings. Worth checking out.
