This is a song I did a few years ago. I redid it at a faster tempo, different guitars, and different harmonies. Thoughts?

MIX #1

Mix #2

Boob Job
My girl know just what she wants
And she ain't the kind to hesitate
That girl's at least a solid seven
And on a good day she might be an eight
But my girl has this pre-dilection
To always insist upon perfection
She got her thoughts, she has her plan
That none of the rest of us really quite understand
She said I got to get ahead
From a seven to a ten
And I can't get there on my own
She had a talk with her physican
There's only one prescription
And he gave it to her over the phone

CHORUS
He said I got this one
Yeah a Boob Job's waiting for you
I got this one
'Cause a Boob Job's all that I do
You know you're the one
Yeah a Boob Job's just what you need
We'll have some fun
Cause a Boob Job's just your speed

My girl feeling kind of down
She don't wear no tiara, she ain't got a crown
Her self esteem has yet to be found
But it's gotta be somewhere, lying around
See my girl needs to look her best
She ain't content to look like the rest
Her doctor's eyeing up her chest
So she gonna put his product to the test
He said to fill out the papers and we'll have some fun
In a couple of hours it'll all be done
We'll take your bust size from thirty-one
And push it on up 'til the battle is finally won

CHORUS

BRIDGE
There's something out on the horizon
That we all got our eyes on
And I don't think I need to say more
To use the vernacular
Those girls are spectacular
And now I'm itchin'
To get in her kitchen
And watch her walk around from the floor

CHORUS

The first thing I noticed, before checking out the production, is that the instruments feel like they're dragging. When the guitar came it, it felt like it was "behind" the beat, even though it was the only thing playing. Same with the drums. Is there a click track?

Love the subject matter, I chuckled when I saw the post title, hahaha.

The production sounds good for this style of music, I had no complaints. Its mostly in the playing where the feel just seems "off."

I heard the effect Seafroggys was talking about. I didn't hear it like like he did.

It seems like it has the Rockpile sound? I thought everything sounded spot on. I am not an engineer listener, but production sounded sounded good. Maybe chorus volume come down back closer to the rest of the music, but doesn't sound bad where it is at either.

Nice tune!

LMAO! Fun tune. It sounds fine to me.

Thanks to @Seafroggys, @PorterhouseMusic, @DM60, and @R D Smith.

As to the "dragging" thing on the instruments, I'm not 100% sure what you're talking about. I don't think it's an effect - all there is is the typical EQ/compression/reverb stuff. Is it a timing thing? Is it going on throughout the whole song? Or just early on in the song? Is it even an issue?

Sounded good to me. Nice delivery on the lyrics and bu vocals. Funny too
👍👍

In the intro, the first measure of the guitar sounds fine, but then the second measure sounds like it drags/slows down. Repeat for measure three and four. There's no other way I can describe it.

I think I know what you mean now. Let me see what I can do.

OK I put a "Mix" 2 at the top. But there are no "mix" changes per se.

I had a couple of spots in the double tracked guitar that I wanted to get more in sync. One track rushed the beat and the other was right on beat. Originally I moved the "rushed" stab back to the beat. That gave that little hesitation sound. So instead, in Mix #2, I "rushed" the other track. There were two such instances.

I also tried to humanize the drums entrance just a bit better. Tho it's still not that great.

Anyway, see if that fixes it for you.
