Bogen Pre-amps!!??

All of my experience with Bogen stuff has been with their power amps which were 70V tapped line power amps ment for Muzac systems in places like strip malls. Very lo fi.

I dunno about that...Terry Kath used a Bogen preamp on many of his Chicago records...direct injected, no less...

OK, So here is my first post since I signed back in as Thatupstateguy......
I have aquired two Bogan amps since my last post...... (as UpstateNY......{ it's a long story}....)

One is a solid state Model, called a Challenger,.....and is a 50 watt rated amp,..... I know nothing else about it, and have never hooked anything up to it yet......
And
Strangely enough, I have another small Bogan Tube Pre-Amp that is also called a Challenger.....
I am bringing both to the Fest,........ The Pre for Q to look at, as he said he was building one,... so for a comparison to what he has looked at already,...... This is a little different, I think he said he was building a solid state pre,..... anyway I'm bringing it for him ......

the other one will be given to whoevers name is drawn from a hat,................ Revealed here for the first, and only time before the event.......

You didn't hear that from me......

Terry Kath used the bogen with his guitar and he didn't sing at all as someone posted that his vocals sounded like crap. He was a very close friend

bogen preamp

hi, i'm new here. i recently just got a bogen preamp as well and would like to know if anyone had any information on it. It's the challenger as well, and it says solid state. I'm currently using a MOTU 896 audio interface and will I benefit using this as a mic preamp before my audio interface? or should I throw it out the window? have the guys who own it as well had any luck in getting any more info on this particular preamp? is it a hidden treasure or just junk?
