NM - Land of Excrement
I just bought the latest Guitar World Acoustic mag and one tune that is featured is Against The Wind. What a great song. I pulled out my Bob Seger's Greatest Hits CD and strummed along. The whole CD is great.

The year was 1970, Birmingham, Michigan and Bob Seger played for an assembly in our high school gym. We knew then he was gonna be great.

that double live album he had was one everyone had to have ,
it rocked, it just seemed after awhile everything he did started to sound the same, but i love boston and everything they did sounded the same as well...LOL.....Bostonfan

Seger is an absolute legend. My Dad has loads of the albums, but I've only got night moves (which is a great song as well as album).

I heard he wrote all of Hansons stuff aswell.

BTW, what happened to Hanson? Anyone know?

I'm originally from Detroit where everyone you meet either went to school with Bob or their sister used to date Bob or had a friend of a cousin that was in a band with Bob or..............:D

One of the best songs ever recorded was "against the wind". Stiil the same was the first song I ever learned. The rest are okay at best.

Bob Seger is FANTASTIC!!!
The man doesnt get the recognition that he deserves.
He was writing songs for the blue collar working man way before Broose did it, and yet as Bruce sits in his damn mansion everyone still talks about how he is the man. Hell no, Segar is THE MAN!!! His work holds up over the test of time. Check out HER STRUT, FEEL LIKE A NUMBER and MAKING THUNDERBIRDS!!! Dig thru it, his stuff is a treasure trove.

I saw Bob and the Silver Bullet Band at the Met Center in Bloomington, MN after the Against The Wind album came out. Definitely one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Me & the guys from our band had 12th row main floor middle stage seats.

Bob looked like he was totally enjoying himself along with the rest of the band - and they rocked the joint! He played a cool looking blue acoustic guitar with blue strings on it for Against The Wind. I remember being real impressed with the mix of his live sound - it really sounded good even at the loud concert volume.

Cruisin around in my 57 chev listening to Live Bullet are still some of my best memories.

I think he's living in Michigan enjoying life, his family, and the fruits of his labors.

What happened to Bob, is he still performing?

I think I remember hearing that he got throat cancer. That would end a singing carer.
