BMI, ASCAP help!!!

I have recently been approached by a company who want to use some of my music in an animated series.

I am trying to get my head around the Licensing agreements which I think I have sorted but it occured to me that maybe I should become a member of Ascap or BMI.

I live in the UK, and own a indy label. We are not a registered business but would eventually like to be, and with this new deal I am wondering is now the time to get the ball rolling?

Any adivce on Joining ascap, BMI, licensing music or registering a record label would be greatly appreciated!

You really need to get an attorney to look over licensing contracts. www.indie411.com has some I recommend.
