Would love to know what the majority of sx users are using by way of effects, specifically reverb. I really dont like the sx reverbs, or the sound forge either. I can use my outboard gear, but then I have to record with it (IthinK?). Any brilliant fx packages out there? Vst or direct x. Do you guys use the software compressors or outboard gear. I have the Joe Meek MQ3, good for acoustic guitar, but I have trouble dialing in a setting for vocals. It's settings are really sensitive, and I'm really just begining to understand the whole priciple of compression anyway. Any thoughts are appreciated...

I don't like the SX reverb plug-in either -- they're pretty rough-sounding....

...but I use all outboard anyways, so it's a big deal for me.

last night i was using the waves realverb( i think that was what it was called) it is much smoother and warmer sounding than the sx reverb.

Hey Bear,
Just out of curriosity, what kind of reverb or efx unit are you using these days, & how are you hooking it up to your pc & sx?
(Are you using spdif or do you leave the digital domain?)

Thanks,
Bob

Bob....

Lexicons, Roland, Yamahas (actual gear list here) -- all outboard......... I use the DAW almost exclusively for editing only - transferring tracks between it and my HD24.... all analog mixing....... I've never found s/w mixing to sound all that good --- I much prefer going to a board..........!

Thanks Bear,
I am trying to find a better verb too, and really have never like software verbs too much. I have waves plugs & sonic timeworks verbs, but never like them to much. BTW nice gear... :)

Waves Rverb and Waves trueverb..
if neither of those are good for you, go get a powercore or a uad-1
