Hello again!
I am planning on a full upgrade mid Jan07
Macbook pro C2D (or macbook if they get upgraded) 2 cheese of ram
I will be keeping my FW410 for the sakes of protools (starting AE course)
What would you recommend?
1 - Fireface 800 and a pair of KRK RP8 or Alesis M1 620 or Genelec 8020
2 - Motu Traveler + Dynaudio Bm5a (I prefer over Mackies HR824's)
3 - Great holiday @ Bora Bora ... (or your own suggestion)
Let me give you some background. Singer songwriter, cant help myself. I tried, didn't work. Will want to pre-produce a "full album" with my band, get some demos out yadda yadda yadda...
Dream of working professionaly (eventually, with LOADS of hard work, coffee-making, audio prostitution, etc) in the PP world of cinema, documentary, publicity, tv...
I have had a rocket fast climb in the audio world. My ears improved massively due to the imense studio hours I have been through, plus the incredible insight given to me by others in loco. I have become a seriously proficient tracker. But now I am on my own in a small room in another country
Appart AE, appart from composing stuff... I really feel the need to be able to throw out funny words like...
"...this mix through these pre's are thin and boxy, while through these the lows are rounder albeit edgy high's..."
So, in your opinion, where would my learning curve/setup be most beneficial.
I have read so much about these two interfaces, I know about the converters and pre's... but still I am SO puzzled...
Up to now I have done my own personal mixes through sony hi-fi speakers. I hate them to my gut. I know I know! I've been saving up for this course... I only managed to mix one song out of 200 right, or so to speak. When with others in proper studio setups, I did learn, but never MADE the decisions.
I'd really love to bring out serious and GOOD mixes.
Gracias for las muchachas...

Although I am posting here does not mean I am a noob. I am actually a very modest person. I am scared shitless with the amount of money I will be dropping in January, extremely insecure. I have been saving up money for the last THREE years for this, who are you to say anything about me? I live in a small country with a shitty economy, you have NO idea what I went through to be able to be writing what I did. You have NO idea who I am or how I am, what I know or dont know.
