I always get mine from CD-Recordable.com . You can get 100 cd-rs for $31. These are also all blank with no brand name on them. I've never had any problems recording on to them or reading them either.

I use to be very picky about what media I'd burn on.

I'd only used Mitsui, TDK or Kodak.

Nowadays I'll use just about anything that consistently works. And I've found just about everything does. Verbatim, Iomega tend to be brands that still suck though.

We've gone from 4X burners 3 years ago to 32X burners today. The media has got to evolve along the same lines.

Not saying their isn't junk media (or burners) out there. But bad luck is getting harder to find.

I have no probs burning audio at 12X, which is as fast as my burner goes. I don't hear any difference between that speed and 2X. Guess I'm going deaf.

I have to agree with mtrktr about the Taiyo- Yudens. I use them since a big leading dutch company tested almost all the brands on the market, including the quantegy's I used previous. Taiyo yuden came out as a big topper, as did some models of other brands (which turned out to be Taiyo yuden disks)

About the printing on top, try the pintable model. It is all white and looks great.
