Every vendor is going to attempt to maximize his profits to the greatest extent possible, so everyone, for all practical purposes, is going to have the same price. Now before you jump up and down in disagreement, note that some vendors will have cheaper prices and some will have higher, but in the long run in all averages out.
I have used Bayview Proaudio to grind down Musicians Friend on a 1010LT, but last I checked, Bayview had gone up, and MF had gone down, and so it goes.
Patience and close proximity to major stores that have clearance sales is your one and only sure way of saving money. Every January the new stuff rolls out, so set your sights on some old crap about to be discontinued, wait, don't start drooling for the new stuff, and pounce when it goes on sale.
I tried to do that with the Roland MMP-2, but ran out of money when the price dropped to what I had, briefly, been able to afford.
It also helps to be willing to compromise... so, okay, you can't get the guitar you want in that beautiful deep red sunburst, only in black. So what. You're ears will never know.
