Ok, so the Roland MC-909 has a right and left channel outputs. And I want to know the best way to hook this up to the recording medium, I'm using a Yamaha MD8 (mini-disc 8 track recorder). Should I put the left channel into say, track 7 and then the right channel into track 8? Is that the correct way? Because that's how we're doing it now.
What bothers me is that when I hook up, say, the left channel to track 7, track 7 on the recorder splits that signal to a stereo signal, same when hooking up the right channel to track 8. Should I be fading track 7 all the way to the left and fade track 8 all the way to the right? Seems like I would lose a lot of signal strength that way. So I dunno. For instance, if I fade a track on the Roland all the way to the left, I would still here the signal on the right channel out of the recorder monitor because track 7 splits the signal. If that makes sense.
