Holy cow!!! I haven't seen Spin Audio's RoomVerb M2 listed!

I have tried pretty much every software plugin. I put my money on this one. It simply sounds the most like the high end hardware boxes I have used.

Do yourselves a favor guys and try this plugin! I have a 100% "conversion rate" with this one. Everybody that tries it agree's that it is the best thing available right now.

Convolution reverbs sound great, as long as you don't try to adjust the original impulse. They just seem to get grainy and yucky sounding once you do ANYTHING to them. If the stock impulse works well for you, great! I have tried a bunch of carefully done impulses, and while the unaltered versions sound great, once I started messing with decay, high pass filters, low pass filters, etc....they went to crap. Oh well.

Try RoomVerb M2 guys. This thing simple kills the competition right now.

Wow...you should write advertising copy for this company...oh, wait you already are!

It's ok, Ed isn't spamming ... this time!

Did you succumb to the temptation of writing a proper post?;)

Well, I don't. But if it makes you feel any better thinking that, go ahead. ;)

There are few plugin's I get excited about. The Sonalksis 517 eq, PSP Vintage Warmer, Spin Audio RoomVerb M2, PSP PCM 42, and the LA2A/1176/Fairchild trio of compressors on the UAD-1 card complete that list. All have no equal.

My bad. It just sounded a little...spammy.

Spammy?? WTF, wasn't this thread about the best reverb plug in???

You people either need better drugs or to lay off the good drugs, whichever.

I used to use the Spinaudio Roomverb (the m2 version). It's decent, but in no way would I endorse it the way it was above. I feel the same about the PSP vintage warmer. They can be fun, but they really aren't that serious in my opinion. For me, the UAD1 reverbs both clean house on the Spin Audio verbs, the TC verb does, and I have had no problems changing convo's. I really do think with convolution that it's the sample that makes all the differences. The problem is that there are lots of different samples of the same thing out there. What I did really like about the room verb though were the shorter tailed verbs, and it's lack of CPU usage.

Could someone tell me what the UAD hardware card does? Is it necessary to use their plugs?

Thanks,

tv

That's two now Ed ... careful ... you might start qualifying to get your real username back ...

;) Ok, have it your way!! I guess you'd get banned for admitting it anyway. I was only trying to be nice because you're being good and staying away from all threads involving the banning of people ... :D

Oh well ... not going to play if you're going to be difficult! Good work though.

roomverb did nice things on some vocals for me,
but its not my favorite,
i use that freeverb (dont know the exact version...) and sometimes its useful

i worked with Waves IR1 , but i think its way too expensive for what it does,
it eats cpu so most of the time its no fun to work with,
and only a few times i achieved nice results with it

i think software reverbs still have ALOT of catching up to do with hardware verbs (i'm not talking about alesis midi verb 'junk', but better hardware  )

i'm gonna get me one of the cheaper lexicon verbs because i just need a "decent one for tracking", most plugins i use for REALTIME FX on vocals or any instrument sound too dull and take too much time to tweak...

so if you guys save up some money, get you some hardware verb :)

The UAD-1 verb just plain ol' sound lousy to my ears. Dream verb was the biggest disappoint I have had with the UAD-1 card. The TC stuff via plugin's has been mostly useless to me. It lacks the dense sound their hardware boxes have.

To each their own I guess.

Did you try the new Plate 140. It seems to have a "weight" or density to it I haven't heard in other plug-ins

The Ultrafunk reverb is good on some things (especilly acoustic guitars). I like the fact that they have good presets and aren't very cpu hungry. I think all of their plugs are fantastic and a great bargain. I think they were acquired by Cakewalk or something like that, so not sure if/where they can be found now.

I actually prefer Waves TrueVerb to RVerb in most cases. RVerb sounds great solo, but I usually find it doesn't sit well in rock mixes.

Mostly I hate reverb. But I like the Sonitus FX when I must use reverb.

I hate the Lexicon.

For acoustic guitar I like Timeworks ReverbX and SIR. ReverbX sounds good when I'm looking for a translucent but slightly bright reverb. SIR is what I go to when I want more density, but it sounds good to me only with decays under 2 sec and highs rolled off over 2 kHz.

Wave IR-1 with a high quality Lexi 960 sample. Smokes the other waves verbs, my UAD's, my TC's etc...

Sure would like to get my hands on a Lexi 960 impulse sample... :)

I like the Timeworks as well.(I like all there stuff) Low Cpu over heard..not alot of knobs and buttons to mess with. The Lexicon PAntheon is also a nice plug-in. I have but use the TC or the Waves (although the waves has a great interface and is very intuative). ..
