Best time to use the RNC and DMP3 ?

-Would you use a drum machine in line with the RNC and/or the DMP3 into a VS890?

-How often should you use the RNC and DMP3? Mixdown, instruments,vocals,etc.

Most people would recomend that you only use compression during mixdown. With one comressor that gets a little tricky. You could record everything without compression than loop and rerecord anything that needs it.

Or just use it during tracking and hope you got it right. You shouldnt need much compression with a drum machine unless you are going for a really squashed sound. Since you have total control over the dynamics its pretty easy to get the right levels without compression.
