Rob Dougan's 'Furious Angels' album. awesome sound quality, awesome tracks that actually mean shit!

I really like Paul Stacey's work on the Black Crowes' 2009 release, "Crowelogy." Great stuff...

+1

I love the texture and detail. I can feel the music with my ears as much as hear it. Exodus is one of my standard equipment audition tracks.

Amen brother ! couldn't agree more.
Absolutely, actually the whole 'Exodus' album is aural perfection.

It's been a while since I posted out of the analog forum but I thought I'd add a few Cd's I listened to this week. 1 was Living Sacrifice - Conceived In Fire from 2002 and Tourniquet - Where Moth & Rust Destroy 2003. I will admit the sound is very crisp and clear. 2 Cd's you can crank up & enjoy.

Did you ever get a chance to hear "Precious Death - If You Must"?

Clayman by In Flames
Ire Works by The Dillinger Escape Plan
Aenima by Tool

and although it's a little overproduced for my liking,
Declaration by Bleeding Through.

For what you're saying, the album might be mixed well, but can be mastered poorly imo.
I think Declaration has "mastering" as nailed as possible, because after every song i kept telling myself "best song on the cd, hands down" and when the next song came on it was "F*** that last song this song is amazing!" That and it is mixed Very well if you ask me.

I think Devin Townsend having produced this album had a little to do with it :D

But I consider a CD well mastered if i can listen to it from front to back consistently without having to skip a song.

I thought Ire Works was well done as well!

Aja by Steely Dan

Always thought Passion and Warfare by Steve Vai was very well produced as well.

Deftones: White Pony
Sounds great. Ok it has been limited a lot but the tone of this album is great.
Great work.

Pretty much any Deftones record, but White Pony stands out for drums and vocals in particular.

Edit: Quick replied from front page, and what are the odds ;) ^^

I know. That is saying something about the sound quality for sure. And our great ears. :D

My favourite CD is "Crime of the Century" by Supertramp, the original CD version. Doesn't have as much of the compression and crap that seems to be in most CDs nowadays.
Another one of my favourites is "Greatest Hits" by Bob Seger, the 1994 CD same reason, basically uncompressed. The new Seger Greatest Hits CD seems to fall victim to the loudness war...
