Best solution for de-essing?

Thanks for the reply there Mofo. That made total sense. Chessparov, thanks for the advice. I hate to get rid of the 414 because I use it for so many other micing situations but will consider it. I'll look into the T3. I guess there really is no substitute for good mic placement and proper mic for a specific individual. haha
 
I have a tendency toward sibilance and I find when my mouth is drier, it goes away. Plus, I found speaking a little across the mic, while standing in front, and with the grill at nose height really helps. I'd work overtime finding the right spot rather than tweak the EQ later.
