Im looking for some Not-So-Expensive Tom mics for my home studio. Right now I am using some cheap Audio-Technica DR-DRM Drum Mic Pacage that was like $99 for 4 Drum Mics. I was looking at AUDIX FUSION 7 DRUM MIC KIT and it looks pretty nice and is around my budget range (or a little more). What do YOU think of the Audix Pack and/or What would you suggest in place of that around the same price that would sound good recording?

Anyone Tried the Audix Fusion Mics in the pack for recording?

Sennheiser E604. Very nice and inexpensive.

Besides that they got those handy clamps wich make that annoying micstands obselute

Another vote for the Sennheiser e604. While you probably wouldn't want to use the clip for recording purposes (to isolate the mic from the vibrations of the drum), they do make the mic much more versatile. In the studio, my e604's go on stands, and in live shows they go on the clips. They're also extremely good as snare mics.

Has anyone tried them????

no...haven't tried the audix's...but some guys on the tape-op board raved about the Oktava 012's on toms. i tried em the last few sessions and they are most correct in their ravings...

i saw some recently for 45 and 50 used...go a scroungin'.

Studio Projects B1

I agree, the B1 is excellent on toms, especially if you are looking to mic toms on a jazz kit and want that extra detail. I think toms is the thing the B1's do best.
