i'm looking for good, but mid price range (less than $300) drum mic's for small clubs, nothing fancy, just a solid sound for small shows.

would drum mic packages work out or should i buy them separately?

which ones?

If your in a small club you should be able to get away with just a kick and snare mic. Beta 52 or D112 $200 and a SM57 for $100. Then when you have the cash get some O/H and tom mics. If you get a drum kit set of mics you will outgrow them fast.

Considering the title of your original posting, I'd ditto kidvybes on the Karma set---especially for live use.

$300, and then a little more, does bring you close to a set of classic and oft-used stage/recording mics, especially if you can get the 57's used.

Interesting mic pack kidvybes. But they are back ordered untill June. So it depends on when they will be needed for. :)

...trust me...well worth waiting a month or so for...the bass drum mic alone is worth the price of the entire kit...

. . . and I would have said the tom mics are worth the price of the entire kit . . . and the condensers were worth the price of the entire kit.
