Best Motherboard/CPU Combo for recording?

I'd also like to not spend an outrageous amount of money... I'm using a delta 1010.

I'm using an Intel D945GNT mother board with a P4 3.2GHz Prescott on my rack computer. Works good with my Motu PCI.

You'd probably want something with a fast bus (look for FSB in the spec) speed and SATA controllers and find a processor that will fit into that. Or vice versa.

I use a Delta 1010, my mobo is an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe, CPU is Intel P4 3Ghz, 800mhz FSB, SATA, Firewire, usb2.0.....

It's been running solid for over a year with no crashes. It's just a stripped out DAW with a stripped out version of XP home

Can anyone show me a specific board they've had good luck with or would suggest that would go with an Athlon? Also, is PCIe or whatever alot better? I mgiht just change over to firewire. i dont know.
