dont get samsons,i would rather get some better used monitors ,or some wharfs :D

i was looking at the bx5as or the event tr5s any ideas on those?

"better" is certainly a matter of opinion. A lot of people here really like the Event line. I personally do not. I also don't like the KRK RP line either. If it were me i would be looking into something like Tannoy Reveals in that price range.

Get at least 6" woofers.

yep... and check out the low end bass response which should be 50hz or lower... I believe... but also depends on your room design...

People here get that, dude, relax. They're trying to give you their opinions as to the best option. Did your post not read "Best monitors for $350"?

Trust me, no one here thinks you're gonna get "TOP LINE PRO SHIT" for $350.

Geez, an idiot at every turn.

For that price, you might also look at the Alesis M1 Active MKIIs. They have six and a half inch woofers in 'em. I have the older version of those and they work great for me.

Well, waste your money on cheap monitors and end up buying better ones two years from now and waste your money. Why don't you just get serious and get some better monitors at the beginning? If you are are NOT that serious about mixing, then buy some $200 monitors and see if you like it.

Yeah, those top line pro monitors will set you back $10,000 easy.

TheDewd makes a good point. If you get something cheap to get you started and you get way into, you'll want better stuff later. If you buy used you'll probably be able to get most of your money back when you upgrade.

Yep! Indeed, buying used is also a good insurance in case you actually don't like mixing that much. You can resell for about the same price you paid.

im serious about mixing i been mixing/ recording for almost 2 years just i never had moniters. its just that money for a 16 year old is hard to come by now adays

So I think you should invest in good 6 or 8 inch monitors around $500-$600 so you'll be happier in the long run. Check some used stuff too, might be quite interesting.

get away... you kids just don't know how good you've got it nowadays...

back in 1974, when I was 14, the best I could afford was to record to a compact cassette machine... probably a hanimex at that... with one of those rather horrible mono black plastic mic's.

by the time I was in my early twenties I "treated" myself to a tascam 244 portastudio... cost me £740 and I was probably earning around £180 per week at the most... with overtime.

Believe me young dood... electronic gadgetry is so damn cheap compared to what we had to pay in "the good old days" ;)

Weeeeeeellll... back when i was a kid, they only had one instrument, you know what it issssssss sunny?

its was a horn,thats right buddy :D
