Hi. I'm a recording newbie. I'm now acquiring entry level gear for a small in-home recording studio I'm setting-up. I have enough computing power and have Cubase 2.0. I've just ordered a pair of Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2a monitors and a small Wharfedale R1604 mixer (from deepwater). I'll soon be buying an Audiophile 2496 souncard. After researching mics, I pretty-much know what I'm going to buy (a pair of MXL 603s to X/Y mic; V67G for vocals). So now I want to know which midi keyboard controller is best for me. I'm a guitarist, not a keyboard player. I want to spend as little $$$ as possible. Since I'm not a keyboard player, I don't know which I need -- 88, 61, 49, 32 or 25 keys. I assume the pitch and modulation controls are useful once I'd know how to use them. I'm thinking that the MAudio Keystation 49e 49-Key MIDI Controller ($99.95 at zzounds) might be appropriate? Wuddya think of this model for me? But again, how many keys do I need for my use?

Thanks. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm still trying to find people who have used the Keystation88. I just found that there is a Keystation 88es, too, which has the 88 weighted keys without all the other stuff I wouldn't use anyways.
