How much to you want to spend? Best is extremely subjective.

While it may not be the "best" for your voice, without hearing it,
the EV RE15 (or RE16) should produce a high quality vocal recording-other things being equal IMHO. They have similar sonic characteristics to a RCA 77
ribbon, like a rolled off top end, which can help flatter a cheap digital set-up and/or pre.

And yes, they've been used for vocals on many classic 60's/70's hits...

Thanks a lot for info...I have put it on my list with the others to try...
My voice has been said by some to be Stevie Nicks or Janis Joplin type...mabey it is somewhere in-between..I don't hear it though..Just sounds like eurt to me...and that's not always a good thing.. ;) But mabey the extra info will help in your suggestions..

check out the Groove Tube's GT55 non tube or GT66 tube mic. i believe they will compliment your voice nicely. the GT55 is 299 new.
