I have to say, that while there may be better DI's that are dedicated DI units, the DMP3 works great for DI as well as a mic preamp. What you hear going in, is exactly what comes out...if that's what you're going for. Plus, you'll have 2 clean channels of pres for the non DI stuff.
Edit: Sorry, missed the post that said you'll be hooking up a head to it confused. Not sure what would be the best thing for that.
