I'm gonna need 2 good condensers for drum overheads. Please post which is best for $99, and please post links to sites where u can get them. Thanks! input/advice always accepted! :D

For $200 the ATM 3035 is a bargain. I have personally compared it side by side to a $1,000 Neumann TLM 103 and honestly cannot tell the difference when recording my vocals.

oktava mc012, great for drum overheads, no links cuz they're only at guitar center.

Second on the Studio Projects B1 - really good sound and very versatile.

You know....a few years ago a question like that would be a laugh riot.................a studio condenser mic for $99.............it shows you how far home/pro recording has come since the "old days"

Well......... that may be a stretch......But I am sure the ATM 3035 is a bargain...... :)

you want 2, so maybe you can get 2 mxl991's at gc for $100, but not sure, they used to have a set of 1 991 and 1 990 for $100 about a year ago. I don't know if you can get 2 of the same tho, it would be nice, I wish they would.

you could get 2 nady scm900's for $78 but they have a limited upper range so probably not so good for OH's where you want some highs. I'm not done testing it out - oh yea, you can get 2 Behringer ECM8000's for under $100, well not sure lately, but they used to be $40 on sale, look around, then there's used stuff....

If you have a good pre and decent eq and cables, you could figure out how to use the ECM8000's effectively, they are omni but do have some highs and some hiss noise if you don't limit it with some shelving - I forgot about that mic for a while, I just got a decent pre, i'll have to try the ecm thru it....

it might be a bargain, but there's no way for me to know if this is true. I believe you that you believe your ears and for you it's the same. I would be surprised if it was identical. It might be just as good, but there's a lot of variables. I might love that mic, if I got it. But that's quite a claim. Also, with my voice 9 out of 10 cheap condensor mics also sound the same. But my voice is very limited, so I test with my acoustic guitar now and I hear more differences.....

whoa...been a while

but anyone have links to those Marshalls?...the MXLs?

Hahaha...is this a joke? I hate that boxy little sounding mic.
