Agreed. See how the mic improves your sound first before chasing other gear. Changing your mic will make the most substantial change in your sound, compared to other gear.

drossfile nope Dec 7, 2008 #24 to the original question of condensers: i've said it before, i'll say it again. m-audio sputnik. best mic in its price range, imo. i'd urge anyone to take the pepsi challenge with that mofo. that being said, i'd much rather have an sm7 in my locker.
