LOL! ! I loooove that sheen-removal function ! ! !

Makes all my Backstreeet Boys records sound like Jimi Hendrix !

BTW . . .

I have one more nomination. Although this probably would probably qualify as accoustic treatment .

Moving Blankets ! !

The very foundation of my studio's accoustics revolve around them.

Marshall MXL 603s $ 79
Behringer ECM 8000 $ 35
Godin LG SP-90 $445
John J-Station $150
M-Audio DMP3 $199
Larrivee D-03 $700
Canare Starquad $00.60 FT
Neutrik Connectors Cheap

Where's Gidge?:D

Here, I'll fill in for him:

Yamaha Pacifica
M-Audio Audiobuddy
Peavey amps
All Meek gear

Oh...I almost forgot:
All of Allan's Studio Projects gear:D

Oh come on, its obvious that the rain thing is a joke. Someone obviously made that as a joke. i don't think anyone would make a product such as that, and if they did, it would be even less likely that they would describe such as the person who wrote that did.

ahahaha

ok, wait, now i sound like a retard.
its obiously a joke and was never meant to seem serious, lol, i just realized that after i actually read more than just the first bit... i thought you guys were actually making fun of a real invention.. hense, sarcasm... hmm, i seem to be connecting the dots more slowly than the other children!

Going on the assumption that best bang for the buck doesn't have to be limited to inexpensive gear, I would say that the items that have "paid for themselves" many times over in my studio would be:

Steinway piano

I am assuming "paid for themselves" is in quotes for a reason. But I still gotta give the two-thumbs-up-yowza!! on that one!!!

I thought cooledit pro was worthy to be on a list somehow...

Effectively the only gear that pays for itself is gear that you rent out.

In my experince ; the best bang for a buck was Rhonda S.... in the seventh grade, she owed me a buck and gave me a f....:D

What in the name of all that is holy is a pseudoacoustic infector?

Damn, Crawdad! This thing is going to put the BBTTE out of business . . . like forever! :D :D

The Pseudoaccoustic Infector is going to be in . . . like every studio!

(Shit!)

Chess--Oh, ye of little faith! The engineering department is working on a follow up to the BBTTE which will be a quantum leap into the future of sound. Due to the extreme secrecy surrounding this project, I can't give too many details yet. Suffice it to say that the Infector will be soon forgotten when people feast on the sonic possibilities of the new, as yet unnamed unit. But rather than honk my own horn, I'll let field reviews speak for this revolutionary product. Damn, I've said too much already. However, folks, don't throw those BBTTE's out yet, because they will interface with the sidechain of this new monster sound product--in a unique and powerful way.

Remember--"Two BBTTE users can't be wrong" (unless they're deaf)

ART DI/O converter, $159
Behringer V-Amp (no, really) $129
MXL 603
Sans Amp Bass D.I.
Vintage-ish DBX 118 compressor ($35 on ebay)

I find myself reaching for one or all of these things during every session, and yet none of them was a real cash investment. Good stuff.

Actually, if you knew how cheap I was able to get that Steinway, you wouldn't be that surprised to find it HAS paid for itself many times over.

Especially since it is one of the major drawing cards for clientele to use my studio. (The others being, in no particular order: my sparkling personality and fast and efficient work, my well stocked snack-bar, my voluptuous girlfriend, and my six pound Yorkshire Terrier.)

Crawdad,

Can we have another naming competition with the winner receiving a free one?

:p

Now, Scooter---being a small company making limited editions of prized custom processors, we are unable to give any away (unless you could review the unit and boost sales tremendously). :D Let me talk to Chessrock and see what kind of sneaky under the table deal we might be able to arrange. Do you work for a gear magazine by any chance?
