Huaxtec,

Here is an example of the type of online user support you can get with Roland equipment:

http://www.vsplanet.com/

There are other groups too, this is one of the best ones.

I really think Roland is elite in their support. They have already updated the brand new VS-2480 twice with more updates on the way. Plus, they are noted for still supplying software updates for their machines even after they become dated.

When you decide on a machine that is right for you, come back and let us know what you get. :)

Yo HUAXtechi:]

No one, but no one has mentioned the VERY NEW Yamaha AW2816 box!!

This box is just on the market and not readily available at all dealers; however, I just ordered mine from Full Compass -- as the folks said, you deal with those who make you happy and FC's price was lower than Musician's Friend; however, MF has them in stock.

This prodcut is a 16 track digital recorder, with effects, 24 bit; plus it has 32 bit DPS and when you are finished with the tune, you mix it directly to CD.

This box is a smaller, lower priced version of Yam's higher priced product and it is "supposed" to be easier to run.

I bought this box because after months of researching CD burners, here comes a unit that saves me price of a CD burner, updates my studio recording productions, all in one box. I suspect Yamaha effects are pretty good.

Street price for the unit is around 2k. I got it for less.

You can see the unit on the net by punching up Yamaha.

Good luck but give this box a close look.

more 2816 details?

Did that under 2K price include internal hard drive and CD burner? I haven't been able to find out much about this thing yet. I wish they would post the manual at the website. I don't like the 8 stereo faders, would prefer 16 separates. But having the 8 motorized is a big plus. The rest looks pretty good too. Would like to know how you like it. How is the Menu navigation?
Can you mix all 16 tracks down to 2 internally? Some units like the Akai DPS16 limit you to 14 tracks for bouncing/mixing internally. The Korg D1600 allows internal bounce of all 16 tracks to 2 virtuals. Does the Yammy have something like that?
