Noisedude, yes they are great overhead mics as well. There is a backorder situation going on with CAD right now but I know for a fact that American Musical had some in stock as of last night. They're also on eBay quite often.

Everyone should own one or two.

But should they own one or two CADs rather than one or two Solaris or 4033s?

I'm not a big fan of the 4033, I use it under snare and have had success on acoustic guitars. Many people love them as room mics. It can be great on guitar cabs.

I've never used a Solaris.
