Best 2 channel micpre for under $250?

Please give me your idead for the best 2 channel micpre for under $250. These wont be my main ones but i will need extras to finish micing up a drumset.

I think that very few people would argue against the DMP3, and it is well within that price range.

Considering you are talking about a drumset i would say get the API 3124 preamp strip (set $3,000) just kidding....(i wish)
Get a soundcraft 4 ch. mixer...that way you get at least 2ch. of good, classA preamplification, some faders, and expandability, etc. Drums don't normally need much pre-amping, so I wouldn't sweat getting any of the behringer/presonus/focusrite(platinum) stuff....
I swear that mackie and behringer boards are better than some of that stuff, and the soundcraft stuff is way cleaner- their boards are awesome)....
