anyone have any suggestions on a good SOUNDING 2 channel mixer?

I'm wanting a cheap mixer for now, until I get a better/bigger one later. [saving money for production gear @ the moment]. I'm also wanting to record my sets so I want the best audio quality.......

preferably with some of these features:

3 band EQ
x-fader
channel faders
full cuts on the EQs
maybe split cue'ing?
digital out maybe? [i doubt]

What kind of music are you mixing?

Hip-hop based or House based?

I would suggest that you look into Vestax, Rane, or Pioneer.

sorry about that! it's house/progressive based.......

right now i'm looking into a couple units... including:

pioneer djm-300
ecler smac pro 20/30/40
xone 02/32
behringer dx-500/vmx300

i'm looking for good recording sound quality.....

any opinions on any of these? specifically the behringers?

The Proper DJ Mixer

Well like Spin said it depends on what music you will be spinning.
Now I see that you will be spinning House music.

For being more of a House, Trance, Club and Jungle DJ then you can check out the following Mixers:

Vestex PCV-275
Numark DM3002X
Gemini PS1000 Pro

I would really leave the Behringer DJ Mixers alone. A friend of mine had one and told me it wasnt worth what he paid for it. The Channel Faders are to long and not accurate.

Also the mixers I labeled above are not really for any kind of scratching but they will do good for mixing Dance Type music.

Just an extra note for all the Hip-Hop DJ's. If you spinning Hip-Hop like myself, and you are looking for a good Hip-Hop Mixer. I would go with a Vestex PMC Series Mixer or even a Gemini UMX-9. It really depends on your experience and what you are looking to do. I use the Vestex PMC 05. I love that thing

hi if you are gonna spin house/trance/jungle etc..

i'd get either the vestax pcv-275, pioneer djm300, or if you can
afford it the pioneer djm500 is really really nice and has effects.

if you're going to spin hip hop get the pmc05 proII or pmc07. or if you can find it for the right price the samurai versions of those mixers.

The sound quality are good. But out of those three, I would go with the Vestex Pcv-275.
