behringer ub802 to sound card question

all up in yo grill!
to get recording playback through my headphones i connect the soundcard to my "tape in" and send the tape mix to control room/headphones right? would this also play back in the main mix?
 
look for the buttons above the volume for phones..

"tape tp ctrl room" - push that button - u want it on the phones..
"tape to main" - dont push that so it wont go with the main mix. push it and it will!
 
next question

after getting sending the sound card through the tape in to the phones; i didnt get a signal from the mic going to the main mix to record the vocals. how do i get the sound card to play through the mixer so i can hear it and record the vocals going through the main mix? or does this mixer not have that? am i needing another piece of equipment? kinda lost here
 
I have a ub1832 and have to use the source button to get the mix. You got one near the control room volume or main mix sliders?
 
broken finger - no this mixer doesnt have that..

hmm.. well i hope u have your faders up (oops, dials ;)) - of course u should hear the main mix in the phones. do u hear it when u DONT insert the tape? i have the same mixer but never tried that option.. but it would be crap if the tape mutes the main mix lol..
 
How about your main mix goes into tape in use control room headphone to "monitor" LMK what's up after that
