Okay, I am not a wealthy man by any means, but I've decided to purchase this mixer to suit my needs as an on-stage mixer for drums.I need inputs for 9 microphones and this semed to be the best bang for the buck.
My recording needs are minimal. I just record tracks as ideas to share with other musicians. I use a little Tascam 4 track analog for that. I have a Mac in my studio (I'm a visual artist by trade also) and it has the older G3 processor. I'm thiking about converting to digital recording and I'm looking at soundcards and such because the built in ones are minimal. Can I also use this Behringer board as a mixer for digital recording? I realize that it is not state-of-the-art, but how bad or good is it?
I'm currently using a borrowed Behringer 1002 with 5 XLR inputs and two 1/4" and it works fine if I use good mics, but I needed more inputs. I want to spend my money on better mics, going to all condensers for the toms (I wish I could afford all AKG 414's but I've had luck with the SP B1 at a friend's studio and I'm looking at the SP B3's to use in fig 8 for toms and cymbals.)
Any thoughts? Or should I look for a better mixer for digital?

You need the UB 2442, The one that you have chosen does not have enough Mic Inputs.
If you can afford it also have a look at the Berry DX3216 Digital mixer this will suit your ambitions with recording much better thru the ADAT input and output option.

Thank you very much. I will check that out. I'm doing my shopping around now because I'll be doing my purchasing after June 30th.I'm terrified that I might buy something stupid left to my own devices so I'm reading a lot and asking for a lot of advice.
