anyone tried these speakers?
the fact that they're behringer geves me suspect, but they look pretty good...
let me know!

Why bother with Behringer Truth???

IF you have the money, there are Mackies, Tannoys, Events, Genelecs, Meyers, and that one Ed pointed out (can't remember the name off-hand!).

If you're on a budget, you'd find it tough to outperform the Yorkvilles at $200/pair.......

Funny thing about Behringer products - Behringer must know it's market rep is pretty piss-poor in pro circles, only slightly less in the semi-pro crowd, so their only really market demographic are the novice/naive enthusiasts who wouldn't have developed the audio experience to be able to differentiate between different brands of gear. Good thing for them is that the novice market is huge! Bad thing is that the novice crowd gets the impression that their gear is actually worth something, then argue with the pros when they poo-poo it. I mean, Behringer doesn't even try to market to the pro crowd - so right there you have to figure that pro level specs are any part of their gear designs.

BTW, as always, there are some exceptions - Behringer apparently does have some useful gear (Ed swears their comps are decent - and his opinion is very respectable) I actually use their Virtualizer occasionally (no... not for the 'verbs - they really do suck!), but for the delays, chorus and the vocoder - makes a reasonable "spreader" patch. So they're not *all bad*.... but they quite regularly give the "impression" of product sleaziness! :)

Oh well... rant's over - sorry for going off-topic lemonsucker........

thanks a lot.
i was just curious cause this guy said he's going to give me a used pair for about 300 american dollars.
of course my ears will judge, but i wanted a few opinions from other people too.
btw, i have the virtualizer, and i only use it for the delays too.
but i'm going to throw it out of the window as soon as my lexicon is here anyway.

I haven heard them but Ive heard good words about them from some local guys that repaced thier mackie 824s with a pair.

usually I am suspect of them as well.

BRUCE Iv'e got a question here . A few guys have told me that the new large diaphram berringer mics are rode nt2s with a shaft that says berringer on them. No shit manufactured by rode but the shaft put on by beringer here in the states no less with a made in the usa on them.

Have you heard the same thing or even tried them. If so a rode nt2 for 250.00 Would be a good deal even if it says berringer on it.

I answered in the other thread...

I have no idea... but personally, there's a certain stigma with the Behringer name that I have a hard time getting around... I'd pay the extra dough for the name NOT to be there! ;)

sorry about the double posting but I thought I wouldnt get an opinion from the one that was dorment for two days.

I still havent seen those monitors yet But the behringer publisist says thier great so thats all we needed to know.

I believe their is a misunderstanding about the Behringer Truths. People, their is a difference between the Original B2031 and the B2031a's that are on the market today. They quit making the original B2031's quite some time ago because of the close simularities to the Genelecs and the Mackie hr824's and didn't want any legal issues so, they changed the design and model number to B2031a.

I think the matter is settled.

I got that from a Donald duck annual in the 70s !

I was reading down (as I own a set of these... they're not good...) and I though Blue Bear was back with us for a moment there...
