Why bother with
Behringer Truth???
IF you have the money, there are Mackies, Tannoys, Events, Genelecs, Meyers, and that one Ed pointed out (can't remember the name off-hand!).
If you're on a budget, you'd find it tough to outperform the Yorkvilles at $200/pair.......
Funny thing about Behringer products - Behringer must know it's market rep is pretty piss-poor in pro circles, only slightly less in the semi-pro crowd, so their only really market demographic are the novice/naive enthusiasts who wouldn't have developed the audio experience to be able to differentiate between different brands of gear. Good thing for them is that the novice market is huge! Bad thing is that the novice crowd gets the impression that their gear is actually worth something, then argue with the pros when they poo-poo it. I mean, Behringer doesn't even try to market to the pro crowd - so right there you have to figure that pro level specs are any part of their gear designs.
BTW, as always, there are some exceptions - Behringer apparently does have some useful gear (Ed swears their comps are decent - and his opinion is very respectable) I actually use their Virtualizer occasionally (no... not for the 'verbs - they really do suck!), but for the delays, chorus and the vocoder - makes a reasonable "spreader" patch. So they're not *all bad*.... but they quite regularly give the "impression" of product sleaziness!
Oh well... rant's over - sorry for going off-topic lemonsucker........
