I have a Noise Problem...Opinions....Options...?

Hey Guys,

I'm fairly new at home recording, and am not trying to be a pro at it, but a decent sounding demo would be nice to have and make :) I was wondering if anyone could give me an Opinion on the Behringer Shark DSP110, for the Noise Gate and Compression feature mainly, accompanied by the "learn" features of these. Since I'm new I'm wondering if the "learn" would be nice and helpful? I am recording in my "spare room" in my small apartment, and get an annoying amount of hiss/feedback when recording and was wondering if this would help at all, or any suggestions of something i could buy to help. I found the Behringer Shark DSP110 on ebay for $50.00

Product Info:Behringer Shark DSP110

My Recording Setup (so far):
  • Alesis MultiMixer-12 Firewire Mixer
  • DigitechRP2000 Effects Processor
  • Hosa SideKick D.I Box
  • CAD GXL2000 Condensor Mic
  • MXL990 Condensor Mic

Side Note: I record guitar, bass, and vocals.

thanks in advance! :D

I have two.

Never used them for recording- they work fairly well for feedback supression, but any good soundman will tell you there is no substitute for a good 31-channel EQ.

My general opinion of the SHARC's is that they have their uses, but are made to do a little too much.

Oh, and I paid $39 each for mine, brand new, before they may have been discontinued. $50 for one now is about $30 too much (but not too bad for a pair.)

Oh, crap. Double post. It wasn't there a moment ago...
