Behringer MX 8000 ... advice?

hi guys... need lot's of advice on this and i guess this is the best place to get it... i'm from Malaysia, ( a small country in Asia for those of you with E averages in geography :) ) and i operate an MX 8000 in my church for live reinforcement...

i know from searches in this forum that some people hate this brand, and others seem to be okay with it... but please bear with me...

the mixer was fine for a few years, then all hell broke loose... first, the channels started to die ( around 4), then, the meter bridge displays started to give way, the contact on the buttons started to get really temperamental ( and to push and release really hard before something happened), the left output on the main mix began to drop noticibly from the left one, and then later dieded alltogether, and for the cou de gra, the mixer would die every now and then with a loud "POP" , most of the time, right in the middle of a church service.

so after all this problems cropped up, we sent it for servicing at the official distributor and was told the power supply of overheating and some of the components needed to be replaced, as well as some general cleaning. So all this was done, and the mixer returned to it's normal self for a few months... but recently, some of the said problems started cropping up again, and with a major live production (Christmas) in the pipeline, we can't afford to have any reliability issues on the mixer...

so, i just wanted to ask what i should do?
service the thing and hope that it'll all go away?

or chuck it and get a new one?

and any recomendations on a reliable one?
( we're not a pro outfit... just the normal church service, and an occasional live band or 52 member choir on stage)
kinda requirements... but a meter bridge display would be nice... noise so far has NOT been an issue, but we haven't done a one-on-one comparo with other brands...

thankz again...

appreciate you all reading this...

MisterCueQ : i think you may be right on Behringer Mixer boards
