Ench - I guess I'm thinking that home theatre systems probably give you a greater bass response than a normal stereo - they're certainly not flat. This could why all the comments (which I've now read) are talking about low end stuff - I was listening on headphones so that's not a good thing for a start, but it's also a matter of understanding the gear you have. I mixed 2 albums on a home stereo, and whenever I've posted bits of them anywhere, I don't get comments about EQ type things - reverb yes, but not overall balance. I think you can do a reasonable job on anything, if you understand what you're dealing with in great detail - that takes practice of course. Good luck - I though "fight" was pretty cool - I find myself either really liking or really hating most Aussie hip hop - I like it when it's about things we Aussies experience, which your toon did, and I hate it when it's all about homies, gettin' up on the mic and blowing away all the other rappers and all that Yank shit that doesn't really apply here. I'd do a bit more work on Fight and send it to JJJ and some of the Sydney community stations - FBI and others - I reckon it'll get played! Good luck.

Thanks for the encouragement Amri, I just might send a demo off once I've done a couple more songs. Yeah I hate people who rap about like LA, homies and the like unless they have experienced it first hand. My favourite hip-hop group is Ugly Duckling, a more comic style.
If you like some Aussie rap you should listen to "Why do we try so hard" by Two Up. I don't really like the MCs voices but their DJ is awesome and the lyrics are funny. You'd probably like The Herd. Their latest album, An Elephant Never Forgets, is VERY political and really refers to issues close to home, hence they are part of "Rock Against Howard". To quote one of their songs - "US forces, just like WWF. Iraqies ( spelling) getting body slammed by George W's best"
